It’s been a long time since I enjoyed my time with a medical professional. I’d say the last time was with my pediatrician! Mary makes you feel very comfortable and is very knowledgeable, she explained everything about my procedure as she conducted it and was very considerate at every turn. Could not recommend Mary enough to anyone needing a nurse practitioner!

Was a little nervous for my visit. Had never had a Pap smear, or any female wellness exam. Mary made me feel both safe, comfortable and calm. She talked me through the entire process and has been the best interaction with a medical professional I’ve had since moving to San Francisco. Would highly recommend her to anyone in need of similar services!!

A Nurse Practitioner who studied public health, Mary McQuilkin strives to provide evidence-based primary care and continually reviews medical literature for new data to guide clinical practice. She is interested in the development of novel health care delivery models to improve primary care, and subsequently public health. She has experience in settings ranging from a Syrian refugee camp clinic in Greece to transitional housing for homeless adults living with HIV in inner city Baltimore. After nursing school, she served as a United States Peace Corps Volunteer in Uganda. Mary was recently an Assistant Clinical Professor at UCSF, where she taught in the Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner Program and coordinated the HIV Minor. She enjoys backpacking and cycling.

Mary was very thorough and helpful. She asked me lots of questions and I felt as thought she wanted a full understanding of my medical history. She was also easy-going and cracked a few jokes.
