Mary Schaffer is a licensed clinical psychologist and has thirty years working with all ages across the life span. She received her PhD from the Union Institute, MS in Counseling Psychology from Northeastern University and BA in Psychology from Kent State University. During her career she has worked in an urban school, out-patient, partial hospitalization and intensive-out-patient settings. In the last several years Dr. Schaffer has worked primarily with older adults residing in senior living communities who are confronting aging issues and acute/chronic health conditions impacting their emotional well-being and quality of life. Dr. Schaffer specializes in working with adults 18+ that are having mood and behavior problems connected to depression, anxiety, and trauma that may be triggered by relationship distress, delayed/unresolved grief, aging issues, including the onset of dementia, post-traumatic stress, and anger management/impulse control issues and chronic health conditions.
