Dr. Mary Szatkowski-Pritikin, M.D., earned her medical doctorate in 1972 from Loyola Stritch Medical School in Maywood, Illinois. Her post-doctoral training included an internship in internal medicine at Loyola University/Hines Veteran Administration, also in Maywood. She was the first woman to train in ophthalmology at the prestigious Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami, Florida. Dr. Szatkowski also completed fellowship training in oculoplastic surgery at the University of California - San Diego.
Dr. Szatkowski is board-certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. She has published abstracts and participated in research studies, and has been a professor of ophthalmology at Rush Medical School since 1981.
Dr. Szatkowski also operates our aesthetic division-PritiSkin Treatment Center. Dr. Mary and her office staff are extremely professional and welcoming. I went to her office for eye exam and a consult for eyelid surgery to functionally improve my vision as well as aesthetically improve my eyelids. I was able to accomplish all of my goals and ended up having eyelid and brow (lift) surgery in her office. So far, 6 days out I am extremely please with the results. Highly recommend her. Looking forward to working with her again.

Everything was great AT the doctor... But then they sent me a gigantic bill just for being a new patient. This was never disclosed before I went into the appointment, there was nothing on the website (this is my first time using ZocDoc) about it. They did not inform me I would be getting this bill even as I was leaving. It completely blindsided me. I'm a college student who can barely afford it, you'd think I would've been warned by the receptionist. It came a few weeks later in the mail, and now I'll be out several hundred. NOT HAPPY.

After looking everywhere for an ophthalmologist that could take me in right away, I found Dr. Szatkowski. Everybody in her office are super nice and the time wait was about 15 minutes from where I walked in up to when I was seen and they’re a little bit “behind”. They never rushed but did explained me that I need more time for the procedure so we rescheduled for next morning. I’m so happy I found her.

The office is in a converted office space which feels a little weird. Notably, 3 months after my appointment, I still haven't received any billing, and every time I call they say they'll get back to me and they don't. My experience with the physician was positive and I got the care I needed.

I had a great experience. Dr. Patel and Dr. Mary Szatkowski both examined me to confirm Dr. Patel's initial opinion, which made me feel like they are good at collaboration and are very thorough. I have viral pink eye and even though there isn't much they can do about it, Dr. Szatkowski still wanted to follow-up with me to make sure that nothing worsens or becomes concerning. I will definitely be going back here if I have another issue and will be recommending this practice to others!

Well organized office and professional medical care. I have been seeing Dr. Szatkowski several years now and have had a consistently good experience.
My only concern about this practice is the strong scent used in the waiting area. It's overpowering, and could pose a risk for those who are sensitive to scent.

I was very disappointed in the experience. I had to come to the office three different times for one trip. I booked the earliest appointment and the doctor came late into the office both days. I do not think she respects her clients or their time.
