Dr. Higgs listens to your issues, gives his diagnosis and then treatment options. Treatment options are discussed and decision is made with your approval and consent. The office staff are very knowledgable re: forms, consents, etc. and do their best to keep everyone on schedule.

Matthew Higgs, MD received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Sul Ross State University. He received his medical school training at Texas Tech Health Sciences Center in Lubbock, Texas. Upon graduating from medical school, Dr. Higgs completed his Family Medicine residency at John Peter Smith Hospital. He then chose to pursue his passion for sports and musculoskeletal medicine and remained at John Peter Smith to complete a Sports Medicine Fellowship.
Dr. Higgs provides non-operative treatment for acute and chronic musculoskeletal disorders. He enjoys treating acute injuries and chronic disorders of the shoulder, elbow, wrist, hand, back, neck, hip, knee, foot and ankle. He offers diagnostic and therapeutic injections for the shoulder, elbow, carpal tunnel, hand, hip, knee, lumbar spine, and SI joints. Dr. Higgs is proficient with diagnostic musculoskeletal ultrasound as well as in-office ultrasound guided joint injections.
Dr Higgs is accepting new patients in Clear Lake and Baytown.

I was so happy to find that his staff along with him was so friendly.
His sense of humor was spot on, and he took the time to really investigate the issues that I was having and was able to help with a solution.
I was nervous about that as nothing was showing up on the Xrays.
He was the 3rd dr that I had went to in the last year and I am done looking.

Dr. Higgs is a sports medicine orthopod. He is not surgeon. That is exactly what I was looking for. His bedside manner is very good. He understands what's going on with me and focuses on treating me appropriately.

I am not sure this is the proper place to voice an opinion or not but here goes anyway..The vote is still out on.this doctor and his staff. I am more impressed with the doctor and his assistants than the outside checking crew. Everyone seems to be in a frenzy and I had to insist that I was enrolled in Zocdoc and part of the paperwork was unnecessary. Both times when I called to make anappointment, I had to leave a message for them to call me back which in both times, I could see the available appts times slipping away so I locked in on the Online Zocdoc system. I like Zocdoc and will continue to use it.

Looks into different options to treat my knee problem and that is something I liked! He evaluated with me every possible way I could get treated and helped me in giving me other options in case the MRI and treatments were going to be too much of an expense. I did not have to wait long at all. The nurse was very friendly and made the whole appointment pain free. Dr. Higgs was very professional and explained everything so I could understand. He did not rush and took his time to explain what treatment would be best . i was very pleased with Dr. Higgs and his staff.
