Originally from Pittsburgh, Dr. Matthew Maropis received his bachelor’s degree in science from the University of Maryland. From there he returned home to Pittsburgh to receive his Masters of Science at Chatham University, prior to earning his dental degree at the Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine. There he was awarded honors for his research in dental medicine and excellence in Prosthodontics.
Dr. Maropis is dedicated to improving his skills within the profession, which brought him to Phoenix for a residency in Advanced Education for General Dentistry. Here he received advanced training in surgical procedures, implant placement, laser dentistry, endodontics, sedation dentistry, special needs care, and cosmetic dentistry.
Dr. Maropis is happy to call Phoenix home and enjoys hiking and biking, exploring the landscape and frequenting the many golf courses the city has to offer. While he enjoys all of the great sports teams in Arizona, you can always find him cheering on his favorite NFL team the Pittsburgh Steelers.

This was my first time at this office, and I have to say i was extremely impressed with the high level of customer service and overall personalities of the staff i came in contact with. I've just moved to the City of Pheonix, and quite honestly have been very disappointed with the level of customer service in the city. The only thing i was a little disappointed by was i thought i'd be getting my cleaning during this visit, but did not, and when i asked about it when i was leaving i was told the hygienist went home sick so I'd have to come back. I prefer to get things done all in one shot, so a phone call giving me the option to come in today or reschedule so i could get it all done at once would have been preferable. Other than that the appt went well and I love Dr. Maropis and the staff are super friendly.

The staff and Dr were very professional but not intimidating. I felt like Dr Maropis really cared about me as an individual and as a patient. This was the first time that I did not feel the injection before my procedure. That is a big thing for me because I am scared to death of needles and pain. Dr Maropis made sure I was comfortable during the whole appointment. His level of care and concern are qualities that I have never experienced in a dental office. I would HIGHLY recommend this office and Dr Maropis.

I went in for a routine cleaning and the staff and ambiance at this location was great! As soon as I got in the door they greeted me with my name (even though it was my first time there). I talked to the receptionist who was incredibly polite and friendly who gave me basic information about what my insurance covers. As soon as they were ready for me I was brought into the back to get my x-rays done by the dental assistant. I was then greeted by Matthew Maropis, after my x-rays, who gave me the background of the company and a little about him self. So this location on Bell is the third (recently opened) Dental on Central. The other reassuring thing about this spot is the fact that they specialize in treating patients that have anxiety with dentists and they do everything in house because they have a great team of doctors. He explained the X-rays to me on a flat screen TV so I could follow along. After that I got my teeth cleaned with no problems and I was all set to go. They gave me a bag with some basic dental hygiene products and I made my appointments for future cleaning and a follow-up. They made me feel very comfortable and I would recommend Dental on Central to anyone.
