Dr. Rogell specializes in sports medicine and arthroscopic surgery. He attended the Georgetown University School of medicine. He then completed his surgical internship at Union Memorial Hospital, Baltimore, MD, his Orthopedic Surgical Residency at the Westchester Medical Center, Valhalla, NY, and St. Vincent's Hospital, New York, NY, and a Sports Medicine Fellowship at Union Memorial Hospital, Baltimore, MD. Various research projects completed during Orthopedic Residency and Fellowship include "Biomechanical analysis of Intertrochanteric femur fractures" and "Patellar tendon preparation for ACL (knee) reconstruction"
Dr. Rogell maintains local surgical and sports medicine associations with Danbury Hospital, Danbury Surgical Center and the Ridgefield Surgical Center. Dr. Rogell's previous professional associations include the New York Rangers (NHL), Baltimore Ravens (NFL), Baltimore Blast (Major League Soccer), Junior Olympics and various college and high school teams. He is currently one of the few orthopedic surgeons in the area trained in hip arthroscopy. And, he has recently begun to use Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) injections to speed the recovery of muscle, ligament and tendon injury.
He is Board certified in Orthopedics, a dipolomat of the American board of Orthopedic Surgeons (ABOS) and a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS). Additionally, he is a member in good standing of the American Medical Association (AMA), the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine (AOSSM), the Arthroscopy Association of North America (AANA), and the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM).
