Dr. Shem has changed me life! I went to him after suffering for a year and a half from post-concussion symptoms and in ONE week he has me functioning normally again and most of my symptoms gone. It has been over 8 weeks now and I am still doing great and getting better and better. We still talk every 2-3 weeks and he is still there to guide me through my healing. My short-term memory is back, my energy levels are back, my light sensitivity is gone, my overall memory is getting better, I feel better and I am happy again. Thank you so much, Dr. Shem!
I have my life back after seeing Dr. Shem, and having him treat me for a TBI after being in an accident 13 months ago. I visited many physicians to only be told the neurological symptoms I was having would just have to take time to heal. They never offered another option besides the typical ‘prism’ lenses. After seeing a new doctor I was referred to Dr. Shem. At this point I was unable to work as a RN for about a year, my neurologic symptoms such as memory issues, balance, vision, and other cognitive issues I was having only worsened my depression as I was so hopeless I could not foresee or imagine taking the advice of all the other doctors which was to just wait I had already waited 13 months and I was severely losing hope. Dr. Shem is a wonderful provider with amazing bedside manner, and what he does is truly amazing. I spent a week with Dr. Shem at his office undergoing vestibular therapy. Each day of therapy that went by I felt my symptoms not only lessen in severity, but also improve rapidly. At first it was small things like feeling more hopeful my mood was much better I was able to recall things in my memory whether I was speaking with someone or at home and walking into a room and I finally wouldn’t forget what I was doing in that room. As the week went on my balance improved I could walk and feel steady my dizziness completely went away at the end, and even now I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I feel amazing— like a cloud has lifted. I am already preparing my return to my career as a nurse— I cannot thank you enough Dr. Shem!

Driven by a desire to promote healing in individuals who may have lost hope, Dr. Shem desires nothing more than to use his training and experience to ease the troubles of those he encounters, educate individuals, and help connect the dots between questions that have yet to be answered. His mission is to serve those with the greatest need for neurological rehabilitation and get them back to the activities and people they love. Consistent and quality clinical outcomes are of upmost importance, and he enjoys working with patients who have stumbled upon the unfortunate reality, of having to deal with a complex neurological condition. Dr. Shem’s interest for serving patients with neurological conditions was sparked during his undergraduate studies when he began to uncover the vast responsibility of the human nervous system and what happens when things go awry. Little did he know at the time that this would lead him down a never-ending rabbit hole. Committed to a lifetime of learning and in a continual search of how to serve his patients tomorrow better than he did yesterday; he has completed over a thousand hours in post-graduate coursework utilizing neurological rehabilitation as well as nutrition and neurochemistry and currently holds Diplomate status through the American Chiropractic Neurology Board.
