Great Doctor but office staff is disorganized and rude. I always end up waiting over an hour for my 5 minute follow-up appointment. It's ridiculous.
Great doc. Fast and efficient but always takes the time if you want to have anything you want to discuss. He has gone above and beyond to help make sure I am covered when he or I am on vacation.

Excellent. Very understanding, not pushy and he listens and asks for your input on different ideas he has for treatment.
Dr.Baranovsky is very genuine and caring and he listens to what you have to say and take his time to come to a diagnosis.
The doctor is great, but the office is quite awful in their pricing with insurance. They messed up my co-pay twice.
Great guy, he was great to talk to and made the environment very comfortable. I will definitely be going back.
This was my second appointment with Dr. B and I think he's great - I've already referred him to other friends!
Dr Baranovsky was a great listener and asked some really thought provoking questions. I will see him again.
Very nice doctor. He comes across as very caring and puts you at ease. I look forward to seeing him again.
The doctor is great, but the wait is excruciating!! And the receptionists are rude!! Do not recommend.
He is great! I would highly recommend him! He is very insightful and spends time with his patients.
Great doctor. Really cared to listen to my answers and get to the root of my diagnosis. Will be back!
Dr. Baranovsky was very patient, attentive and helpful! I'm looking forward to visiting him again
The administrative element is rather chaotic but his personal work is frank and grounded.
Max was awesome, patient and friendly. Long wait time though. Front desk was a bit rude.
He is smart, he listens, and considers your opinion on how you would like to be treated.
He is sympathetic, kind and compassionate. Only one visit, but look forward to more
He was very nice and you could tell he genuinely cared and wanted what was best.
He is a great doctor, listens to you and provides professional feedback.
Liked him! Straight-forward, listened to me and my concerns --
Dr. Baranovsky was great. Helpful, thoughtful and comforting.
Extremely rude front desk. Not professional. Long wait time
He is a great doctor. Very compassionate & understanding.
Great Doctor but office staff is disorganized and rude. I always end up waiting over an hour for my 5 minute follow-up appointment. It's ridiculous.
The wait time is absolutely horrible. It's hard to find a psychiatrist with my insurance so I've been dealing with it but it take 1-2 hours in the waiting room every time. Luckily my work is understanding but I get stressed every single time. He doesn't really inform you too much and appointments are 5 minutes or less but at least had me take a thorough test for a prescription I had already had to make sure I needed it. He's nice but just never makes me feel like I'm taken care of or listened to.
Great doc. Fast and efficient but always takes the time if you want to have anything you want to discuss. He has gone above and beyond to help make sure I am covered when he or I am on vacation.
Very kind and thorough. Highly recommend!
Good doctor but terrible office service
The wait seemed very rude and the front office was not helpful, though Dr. Baranovsky was efficient and helpful once I got in.
Dr. Baranovsky was great. However the office services was a bit chaotic which had me wait for another person who was scheduled after me.
If you need to have just drugs, I would recommend him, but if you want to treat your condition, better to visit another doctor.
I waited almost two hours both appointments I had. He was casual and sympathetic but often tried to complete my answers and asked leading questions.
He was great, very attentive and a good listener. Asked a lot of questions and was very sympathetic with my past and present issues. They only take cash so make sure to bring some!
The receptionist need significant amount of training in dealing with patients. Unfriendly and unhelpful, and wait time is way too long I waited almost 1 hr.
AWFUL service at the front desk and over the phone. The doctor wrote the wrong RX for my home delivery and after several calls, still no one helped me even though I was out of medication. I was put on hold repeatedly and was treated rudely and with utter disregard. I would never go back to this practice.
I think Dr. Baronovsky is a wonderful doctor. However the front office staff is incredibly rude. They over book the doctor often leaving me waiting for an hour. When I said something they told me it was a first come first serve basis, defeating the point of appointments. If I was not scheduled first thing in the morning the it was a gamble as to when I would get in, which is hard as a student with an hourly job. I can't just " take lunch". When I've called them asking questions I am put on hold or told that they will call me back and either hung up on or my call is not returned. Again, Dr. Baranovsky is a wonderful doctor and I regret that I won't be able to attend his practice anymore because I can't clear my schedule to come and wait in the office every month.
Wait was too long so I did not see him. Usually takes 5 minutes once I see the doc but the wait beforehand can be over an hour. Better communication to patients about expected wait time is needed.
Nice guy but wrote me the wrong prescription once and had an incompetent support staff. Also insisted the law required me to see him once a month for prescription renewals. When I switched doctors, my new one told me that wasn't true. I would not recommend him unless you are very focused and specific about what you want out of the visit.
He was very thorough and asked good questions. I would recommend him. The only concern is the office policy is such that they only give 30 day prescriptions. I was not informed about this when I first made an appointment. I didn't even know to ask. This could be a real inconvenience for some.
He seems like a good psychiatrist, but I won't go back based on the hour and 45 minute wait. The front desk staff was also short and not empathetic to the long wait.
Always wait FOREVER
Visits always seem to go much more quickly on Tuesdays when he's in his 20th floor office (rather than 16th floor). Always like Dr B, but this was the best experience I've had with the practice yet!
Overall the wait was worth it because Dr Baranovsky took the time to ask my full health history and thoroughly listened to my problems and any questions I had before deciding on a treatment plan.
Dr. Baranovsky definitely knows his stuff! He put me on a cocktail that works perfectly. I finally feel like a real person again! The only downside is the ridiculously long wait time, and that you have to bring cash.
The wait is always absurdly long for a simple 10 minute visit that i always rush from work to try to make in time. Their staff isn't great or very helpful and pretty disorganized. Usually once i book an appointment on ZocDoc they call me a few days later to reschedule because that time I selected on ZocDoc isn't actually available. Quite a nuisance but I don't have time to find a new psych so I just keep coming here every few months and just deal with it.
I love Dr. B, he's an amazing psychiatrist and I would recommend him to all my friends. My issue was with ZocDoc, however. While I had the confirmation in my hands for my appointment, I did not show up in their system as having an appointment. Luckily, he was able to squeeze me in, but I would have been left without a much needed prescription had he not been able to.
Good guy, really straightforward and patient.
I thought Dr Baranovsky was very kind, but he also seemed exceptionally tired and the session with him felt rushed. He gave me two new medications without going into detail about what they were, side effects, or really asking me anything about my medical history. Also, this isn't his fault (I assume), but I waited over an hour to see the doctor even though I had an appointment. The office also only takes cash for copays, which is a pain if you aren't prepared for that (as I wasn't).
Every time the wait time is very long, at least 45 minutes, generally 1.5 hours. I have waited 2 hours once. ASK FOR A RECEIPT. I feel unfairly charged for certain services, and because you can only use cash for testing and copay, there may be some disingenuous behavior involved. As far as prescrips go, I was told by several psychopharmos, including my Duane Reade pharmacist, that certain prescriptions can be called in. But he refuses to do it. Whether this is a question of principle or to keep charging a high hourly rate, I know not. I just know I'd like to save.
Dr. Baranovsky is WONDERFUL-- he's kind, understanding, and takes the time to really check in, even when I'm only in for a medication refill. The office, however, is another story entirely. There is always, always, always a wait (anywhere from 25 minutes to an hour and a half), even when the office is not busy. There are 3 receptionists on staff, but, for some reason, no one seems to know how to schedule an appointment. I've had appointments made for me for times when the doctor wouldn't be in the office (didn't know he wasn't going to be there until I showed up for the appointment), for physicians in the practice who don't take my insurance (despite the office assistant insisting that the doctor does)... The list goes on. Moreover, I have yet to have a pleasant, positive encounter with anyone on the reception staff-- all of the staffers seem to really dislike their jobs, or dislike working with patients, or perhaps are always having bad days. I'm not sure. Long story short: see Dr. Baranovsky if you can, but double (and triple!) check that your appointment exists, be prepared with exact change (cash or personal check only) for your copay/deductible, and bring something to read/patience to wait. Take as much of the scheduling/logistics into your own hands as possible-- please don't rely on the office staff for helpful, expedient, or polite assistance/guidance.
Doctor is overbooked and my wait time was very long the last time as well. Zoc doc or the dshouldn't allow appointments to be scheduled like this. I brought up this with the doctor and he told me he can't help it when the front desk gives him my chart. Then he went on and on about it. He gave me a very hard time about using the mail order cvs Caremark system and didn't understand why I would come in for a new prescription 3 weeks ahead of when my 3 month supply from the mail order lapsed (because it takes that long to receive the controlled substances from Caremark). He said its too complicated for me to use the mail order system even though for me perscriptions are 1/3 the price. I Was about in tears when I left. Not coming back this time
He is nice, But ZocDoc system with Clinic syatem are not pretty much linked. I have makde appointment 11:15am on Jan 20. I have reveived confirmation text or phone call twice. However, Clinis system shows as my appointment will be Jan 21th 11:15am. Something going on, miss comunimcate betweek ZocDoc and Actually, office. Otherwise, good experience so far.
