The front desk & Dr. Garcia accommodated me, even though I showed up for my appointment at the wrong office. This was my first visit meeting Dr. Garcia - I also spoke to her over the phone once before she is everything I want from an OB/GYN - dedicated, thorough, caring, high-energy, very easy to understand/explains things well, seeks to make sure she has listened to you & all questions are answered.

Meera S. Garcia, M.D., is an Assistant Professor of OB/GYN at Columbia University Medical Center and Regional Director of Women’s Health Services and Division Chief of General OB/GYN at NewYork-Presbyterian Medical Group Hudson Valley. She specializes in procedures used to treat pelvic floor disorders including Botox infiltration and nerve blocks, and in vaginal, complex open, hysteroscopic, and laparoscopic surgeries. She also cares for high-risk obstetric patients.
Dr. Garcia graduated from Case Western Reserve University summa cum laude. She earned her medical degree from Duke University School of Medicine, where she was class president, and then completed her residency in OB/GYN at Emory University. During her time at Emory, Dr. Garcia won several awards for teaching and research. She has been recognized for her exceptional work as a clinician and was named Castle Connolly Top Doctor and Top Doctor by Modern Luxuries Magazine for several consecutive years. And, as a Clinical Instructor at Emory University School of Medicine Department of Gynecology & Obstetrics, Dr. Garcia earned the Teacher of the Year Award in 2010.
Dr. Garcia is an experienced clinician, teacher, and mentor and has had many executive roles throughout her career. She joins NewYork-Presbyterian Medical Group Hudson Valley from Northside Hospital in Atlanta, GA, where she served as the Chairman of Gynecology and on the Obstetrics and Gynecology Executive Board. She also worked as the managing partner of her own OB/GYN practice and served on the Board of Directors of Atlanta Women’s Health Group, LLC.
