I was really pleased with my experience with Dr. McClean. I was able to book an appointment within days for an urgent concern. The office does not accept insurance as they are a cosmetic dermatology practice but the office fee was reasonable. Dr. McClean listened to my concerns and I did not feel rushed. She communicated clearly what my diagnosis was and why, and discussed a treatment plan. She was even willing to come back to talk with me again after she saw another patient if I still had questions. I would go back to the office for another dermatological need or cosmetic procedure. I felt very confident with her.

Dr. Megan McClean is a board-certified dermatologist with expertise in cosmetic and laser surgery. Hailing originally from the Pacific Northwest, she completed her undergraduate degree in Neurobiology from the University of Washington and graduated with honors. She went on to receive her MD from Northwestern University in Chicago where she graduated Cum Laude and was awarded the Phi Rho Sigma Dennis award for outstanding clinical performance. After medical school, she moved to Columbia, Missouri to complete her dermatology residency at the University of Missouri, where she served as chief resident in her final year. She developed an interest in cosmetic and laser surgery early in her training which she fueled through scholarships to national meetings and preceptorships. Her early experience allowed her to develop her own cosmetic clinic during her residency—an almost unheard-of feat. She is thrilled to be joining the Gateway Institute to work with leaders in the field. Dr. McClean’s interests are far reaching and include fully ablative laser resurfacing, facial rejuvenation with soft tissue fillers, non-surgical “thread lifting”, tumescent liposuction, blepharoplasty, and body contouring. She strives to be at the forefront of academic inquiry to develop new techniques and therapies for dermatologic issues. Her research has been published in national dermatology journals and she has presented at local and regional conferences. Her current research interests include the development of improved non-surgical alternatives to face lifting and the use of regenerative medicine within the field of dermatology. Outside of work, Dr. McClean enjoys spending time with her husband and their two doodles. They enjoy travel both internationally and locally and are excited to take in the natural beauty that Utah has to offer. She hopes to hike a new trail at least weekly and would love your input on which one to try next!
