Megumi Uppena, L.Ac is an insightful, compassionate acupuncturist treating patients in the Austin and greater Texas areas. She delivers personalized, patient-centered care that bridges the gap between conventional medicine and holistic natural medicine. Recognizing that no two patients are alike, she tailors her treatment to each individual patient. Her goal is to empower her patients to take charge of their own health by relieving their discomfort.
Originally from Tokyo, Megumi pursued her medical education at the Texas College of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Here, she received training for the treatment of issues including autism, chronic fatigue syndrome, immune system disorder, fibromyalgia, diabetes, and hypertension. She holds certification from the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.
Procedures performed by Megumi include acupuncture, moxibustion, fire cupping, NAET®, and the prescription of Chinese herbal medication. When she is not treating patients, Megumi enjoys cooking, graphic design, and ballroom dancing.

I have been working with Megumi for almost two years. In that time she was able to loosen a frozen shoulder, heal chest pain, and reduce both the frequency and severity of my migraines! She is an excellent acupuncturist and gives each individual the time and space necessary to understand and heal their issues. Try her -- it's definitely worth your time!
