Melinda M. Midgley, MD began her study of medicine as an undergraduate at Brigham Young University where she was the valedictorian in the College of Biology. She then attended the University of Utah and earned her MD degree. Her residency was done at Southern Colorado Family Medicine, and upon completion of that, she began doctoring in a medical clinic in Pleasant Grove, UT, with hospital work at American Fork Hospital and Timpanogos Regional Hospital. She has provided medical care to numerous and diverse patients for 12 years. She also continued to perform obstetrics in her early years out of residency. In her post-graduate work, she was on the team from Genetic Epidemiology at the University of Utah that discovered the breast cancer genes-BRCA1, and BRCA2.
As for her personal life, she met her husband when he was an undergraduate at the University of Utah. They have five children, the oldest is now 12, and the youngest, 2. She is truly a soccer mom, in that not only does she support her children as personal and official coach, but also is on her own soccer team that she has played on for 12 years since returning to Utah. She also enjoys running, basketball, tennis, skiing, camping, and enjoying the beauties of Utah, which she loves because she grew up in Bountiful, Utah. She also enjoyed serving an LDS mission to Auckland, New Zealand. She is the youngest of five children, and has many professional engineers (electrical and mechanical) in her family.

I thought I could do a physical in one visit no three visit to different doctors and lab. I' m very busy and work long hours. I still haven't finished my physical. So when I get some time off again I will find a doctor that can do it on one visit.

Dr Midgley is an amazing doctor, professional as well as personal. I am an older fellow and over my many years of doctors I have had a lot of very good ones, however, Dr Midgley is outstanding and tops the rest by far. I hesitate to submit this comment as it will only make her schedule more busy, but I must submit it because of the quality of person she is.

Dr. Midgley is amazing! She was the first doctor that I visited here in Utah since we just moved here 6 months ago and so I was a little nervous. Dr. Midgley is very interested in coordinating my care with specialists and providing referrals to those specialists, which I greatly appreciate. However, we had a misunderstanding today during which she questioned me about the reasons why I wanted to see a rheumatologist. She didn't completely comprehend that I wanted to CONTINUE care under a rheumatologist for osteoarthritis and Spondyloarthropathy as I had in when I resided in Seattle. My reasons were legitimate, and not because I wanted to waste a specialist's time. Hopefully, we got that cleared up.

Dr. Midgley took the time to get to know me as one of her new patients. She was very thorough in asking questions about my medical history, medications, etc. She seemed concerned about me as an individual, and reassured me that I'd be in good hands-- and that she would ensure the appropriate referrals would be initiated so I could see the specialists who could best address my more complicated health care needs. Dr. Midgley made me feel comfortable, and I am confident she will be a great primary care doctor.

Dr. Midgley was amazing! She helped me feel comfortable, and she kept my mind off the things we had to get done. If you're nervous at doctor appointments, I would highly recommend her. Although it didn't take long to check in, my appointment took two hours to complete because they were overbooked. I still enjoyed my visit.

I've been seeing doctor Midgley on and off for 8 years now. When she took time off to have her baby a few years ago, I felt lost as far as trying to find a kind loving physition. I went to a few other doctors and found that I felt like a number rather than someone who mattered. Yesterday when I went to doctor Midgley, it made me realize just how much I had missed her. She is caring and really takes time to listen to what is going on. I will not go to anyone else while she is practicing medicine!!
