She received her Doctor of Optometry degree with honors in research from the University of California, Berkeley School of Optometry. During her training, she refined her clinical skills at a community health center, veterans affairs clinic, and at the renowned Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami, FL. Dr. Au-Yeung completed an intensive residency program in ocular disease and low vision rehabilitation at the Jesse Brown Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Chicago, IL. She managed complex ocular conditions and had experience fitting complicated, specialty contact lens cases.
