Dr. Berlin comes to Bergen Medical Associates following several years practicing in Massachusetts. She received her medical degree from the University of Ottawa in 2007, and she completed her family medicine residency at Montefiore Medical Center in New York City in 2010. During her final year, she was elected chief resident and had a larger leadership role. She also received several awards during her residency, including a psychosocial award from the faculty of the Montefiore Social Medicine Residency Program; the Best Resident Teacher Award from third- and fourth-year residents at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine; and a top 10 best poster presentation of her research at the Northeast Region Society Meeting for the Society for Teachers in Family Medicine.
While pursuing her Bachelor of Science degree at McGill University in Montreal, she worked as a research assistant for the National Technical Institute for the Deaf in Rochester, N.Y. She was awarded a Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada Student Research Award to conduct research in McGill’s Auditory Perception Laboratory. She also volunteered at the Mackay Center for Deaf and Disabled Children and at the Allan Memorial Psychiatric Hospital, both in Montreal.
