Dr. Melissa Hunter is a primary care doctor treating patients in Daniel Island, South Carolina, and the surrounding communities. I've seen a lot of doctors over the years in various cities and states. The number 1 thing(s) I look for in a doctor is...
- Someone who will listen and won't cut you off mid-sentence.
- One that asks good pertinent questions.
- Has staff that is friendly and helpful.
Dr. Hunter and her office checked all these boxes for me. I was highly impressed by her bedside manner and the staff's jovial nature.
Bonuses:
- Being that it's flu season, they offered me a flu shot without me even asking.
- They checked my medical records for gaps to make sure that I've had appropriate check-ups and physicals.
- They have a super-easy patient portal that allows you to access your records online, check billing statements, and other various tools.
To summarize, this is the best experience I've had with a doctor in YEARS. Thank you!

My husband and I found Dr. Hunter shortly after moving to Charleston and we have been very happy! Carolyn at the front desk is marvelous and very professional, and Dr. Hunter is very calm and reassuring. There is also very little to no wait time when we go in - if your appointment is at 1, you are seen by 1:05, every time. We've been going here for more than 2 years and I've never waited more than 5-10 minutes for an appointment.

Dr Hunter is amazing. She listens and spends times with her patients. Visits do not feel rushed but are still efficient. Unfortunately, her front desk staff in my recent and past visits leaves something to be desired. Interactions with front desk are not customer service oriented - they are unpleasant and aggressive.
