Dr. Melissa Ryan is a Board Certified Doctor of Chiropractic, having received her D.C. degree from National University of Health Sciences.
She chose to enhance her education and became certified in Applied Kinesiology, which uses the triad of health - chemical, mental and structural factors - to discover and treat the imbalances of the human body.
Dr. Melissa followed another passion of hers by obtaining certification in Acupuncture and Cupping. She found that the endless number of conditions that can be treated through these modalities greatly increased the number of patients she was able to help. Dr. Melissa enjoys great success utilizing Acupuncture on a wide array of patients, treating everything from insomnia to cancer pain. Additionally, Dr. Melissa utilizes certification obtained through the Titleist Performance Institute to specialize in golf fitness, and treat golf injuries.
Dr. Melissa grew up in the Chicago suburbs, and received her Bachelor's Degree from the University of Illlinois at Chicago. She spent 17 years participating in youth, high school and college athletics including Basketball, Cheerleading, Track and Field, Dance, Volleyball, and Gymnastics. As a cheerleading coach and tumbling instructor, she spent 10 years working with children of all ages, and prides herself on her extensive knowledge and experience working with athletes and their injuries.
Dr. Melissa is a member of the American Chiropractic Association and the Illinois Chiropractic Society. In 2013, she was selected to represent the ACA in their new Ambassador Program.
She specializes in nutritional counseling and in the treatment of musculoskeletal conditions, sports injuries, stress, anxiety, and migraine relief.
Dr. Melissa believes in providing conservative and alternative methods of treatment
while teaching the prevention of disease, the promotion of a healthy lifestyle, and inspiring her patients through knowledge to choose optimal health.
