Melissa seeks to improve the quality of her patients' well-being by collaborating with them and setting attainable health goals. Through careful listening and education she tailors medical nutrition therapy to fit each patient’s unique lifestyle.
She recognizes that an RDN to patient relationship is a new form of healthcare for many patients. Melissa strives to create a judgment-free zone where patients feel welcome, comfortable and included in their health management and goals.
Melissa has extensive experience with cardiovascular disease, weight management, and digestive diseases.
Melissa received her degree from Pennsylvania State University and completed her internship in clinical nutrition at Sodexo in Philadelphia.
She is also a Certified LEAP Therapist (CLT).
Why did I become a registered dietitian?
I grew up surrounded by a large Italian family & of course a lot of food. My mom and her sisters never really had a great relationship with food. They were always trying the next best fad diet - cabbage soup diet, military diet, you name it they did it. I knew deep down there was something wrong about this and wanted to be able to help people with their relationship with food. I discovered the field of dietetics and the rest is history!
