I could say a lot of positive things about this practitioner but maybe more is less. So let me break patient confidentiality myself since it is my confidence to keep, I will share the last thing that I said to this more than competent professional, I said to her that I knew she could help me the way I thought I needed to be helped and was sorry that it was not her current field if practice (ie she could not treat me). I can’t add to that hearty endorsement directed at those that are in her field of practice which you have to explore as I am learning. She gave me pointers in that direction as part of our goodbye.

Dr. Weiss is a Board Certified adult Psychiatrist by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. She completed her Psychiatry Residency Training at Albany Medical Center and went on to achieve faculty and professor appointments at Albany Medical Center and Stony Brook University Hospital.
Dr. Weiss has practiced in her career as an adult inpatient Psychiatrist treating acute Psychiatric symptoms and disorders. Her academic positions comprised of teaching and developing curriculum for medical students and Residents in their academic and training programs. Dr. Weiss’ transition to the outpatient sector was lead by a desire to treat depressive and anxiety disorders. Her skills are focused in psychopharmacology, supportive and psychodynamic therapeutic techniques.
Dr.Weiss will encourage her patients to combine treatment with a Psychologist for the best chance at success. The philosophy of her practice is to have trust and shared decision making with her patients while focusing on their short term and long term goals.
