My visit with Doctor Harrington was very good.He explained procedures concerning my knee,we viewed x-rays together and he told me when i was ready for my left knee surgery let him know.In the meantime i could come back for further injections every three to four months if i chose to.

Melvyn A. Harrington Jr., MD, associate professor of Orthopedic Surgery, is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in arthritis and joint reconstruction, including total and minimally invasive knee and hip replacements. After completing his undergraduate degree at The Johns Hopkins University, Dr. Harrington earned his medical degree from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine in Nashville, Tenn. He completed his internship and his residency in orthopedic surgery at the University of California Davis Medical Center in Sacramento. He also completed a fellowship in adult reconstructive orthopedic surgery at Harvard University, Massachusetts General Hospital, in Boston. Previously, Dr. Harrington served as assistant professor for the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and Rehabilitation at Loyola University Chicago, Stritch School of Medicine for eight years.

After waiting for almost an hour to be seen, I expected superb service but that was not what I received. The doctor was not very personable or pleasant. I did not feel as if he had given me any usable information to assess the problem with my knee. I was really disappointed in this experience.

Dr. Harrington was great! I have had 4 different knee surgeries all on same knee! The last surgery was just two months ago. I have osteoarthritis and bone on bone. I will be 43 this week and have been told by several surgeons that I am too young for knee replacement! I get I'm younger than most knee replacement patients, but when I have tried everything from medications, injections, P.T., to surgeries and I am still in a lot of pain! This Dr. has been the only one who has listened to me! He is very attentive and I never felt that he was rushing me in and out like most surgeons.

My visit with Dr. Harrington was EXCELLENT. He came in and clearly explained my x-ray results to me, told me my options, and we went from that. What I liked most about him, is he did not rush in, quickly gave the results, and then dodge out of the door. Bedside manners to me is a "priority" and Dr. Harrington earn this rating.
