the staff was friendly and quick to take down my info. i arrived 15 mins earlier to my appointment and didn't see him till about over a half hour later. once he came to the room and went through one if my issues, there i felt like he was rushing a little to get to his next patient, but i advised him i was there for more than one issue and he slowed down.
he seemed knowledgeable in what his treatment plan was and didn't give me the feeling he was trying to sell me expensive products that wouldn't fix my problem. i am definitely coming back to continue my treatment.

Merrick D. Elias, D.O., FAOCD, FAAD is a Board Certified Dermatologist and a Clinical Assistant Professor at Nova Southeastern University’s College of Osteopathic Medicine in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. His interests include all facets of adult & pediatric medical dermatology, surgical dermatology, and cosmetic procedures (including: Botox, Kybella, Juvederm, Restylane, Bellafill, Aquagold, Sculptra, Radiesse, Hydrafacial, Clear and Brilliant, laser hair removal, laser pigmented lesions, laser spider veins, photo and laser rejuvenation, and chemical peels). Waiting time was over an hour with an appointment, walk-ins or patients that knew the staff got in quickly from door to see the Doc.
Overall, a very brief encounter with the doc, less than 6 minutes total, his body language appeared as in a hurry to leave the room, didn't address my concerns and talked over me when I was asking questions. Wouldn't talk to his patients over the phone and let his staff blow you off or schedule another appointment. I will not visit again or recommend him!

This will be my permanent derm. Wait time was less than 10 minutes and as soon as I went in I was taken care by a nurse first, followed by Dr. Elias & a resident. All were very kind and informative and Dr. Elias addressed my concerns. He is an incredibly personable doctor.

The doctor is really good he removed two black spot from my skin in less then 5 minutes and I didn't feel any pain. He is also starting a treatment on my face and I am really happy about it.

My experience was very pleasant. Dr. Elias was very professional and he made me feel very comfortable. He tries to puts himself in the patient's shoes so he'll work with you and see what is it that you really need. However, I did have to wait over an hour before he came to see me. Aside from the wait time, everything else was good.

Dr. Merrick is very thorough and he is very friendly and makes you feel comfortable. He gave me a full physical and I was impressed with how much information he provided me with regarding protecting my skin from the sun. I would strongly recommend him to everyone.

Very professional, friendly and informative doctor. I only had to wait like 10 minutes; he saw me right away. Not only did he answer all my questions but made me feel comfortable with body language. I didn't feel for a second that it was my first time there.

I expected to be able to talk to the doctor about all my concerns, for about 10 minutes. What I got were rushed answers to my questions with the doctor standing (at one point he was standing next to the door) obviously in a rush to leave. I don't think he spent more than 5 minutes with me.
He took care of my primary concern (a skin condition) in about 30 seconds or less. But when asked about a good skin regimen, he answered with words such as "eat a healthy diet and wear a sunscreen." I can get that info from google. What I wanted was for him to look at my skin, maybe ask about my skin type, and help by recommending good products. That is not what i got. Sure, different products are different for different people and I am happy he is not trying to "sell" a product. But he could have taken 3 minutes to review a couple of good options. After all, that's why you go to an expert. For expert opinion.
At the exit, they gave me prescriptions with instructions but the instructions were given so fast, i got to the pharmacy not really knowing what I was getting. I have been to many other doctors before and usually, they might explain fast but do not rush through explanations, and they write explanations down so you won't forget. Not in this case.
Overall, i do not feel like i can go to this doctor and expect to have my questions about my skin answered. Yes, he'll take care of the main concern if you have some type of skin condition, but that's it. I guess it's not a good place for non-emergency dermatological care, such as skin aging prevention, which i was very eager to get.
