I am a board certified physician trained in general psychiatry who specializes in the medication management of a variety of psychiatric conditions, including: depression, anxiety, bipolar disorders, psychosis, and post-traumatic stress disorder. I provide evidence-based medication management for a wide range of symptoms from mild/short-term to severe and chronic psychiatric conditions. I will take the time to collaborate with you to review and optimize your psychiatric medication plan--including providing an expert opinion on psychiatric medications prescribed by your PCP or another specialist and, when appropriate, to help you taper off of no longer helpful medications.
I have experience working in a variety of clinical settings and dealing with the interface of medicine and psychiatric conditions. I have worked on inpatient psychiatric units, medical consult services, outpatient clinics for the seriously and persistently mentally ill--and now focus on outpatient medication management of psychiatric conditions.
I recently relocated to Charlotte with my wife, Laurie Arena, NP to form Arena Psychiatric Services. After leaving Boston, we had the opportunity to pursue travel health care and had fulfilling experiences in Arizona and Pennsylvania prior to settling down here in NC. We look forward to working with you.
