Dr. Castro is a board certified orthopaedic surgeon with fellowship training in orthopaedic trauma, and reconstructive surgery of the foot and ankle. His scope of expertise includes sports injuries, fractures, arthritic conditions, diabetic foot problems as well as congenital and acquired deformities. His practice offers comprehensive surgical care including ankle and foot arthroscopy, total ankle replacement and reconstruction of for posterior tibial tendon insufficiency (“fallen arches”).
Dr. Castro is a member of the AO-ASIF Foot and Ankle Expert Group, a prestigious international scientific think tank charged with the advancement of technology and procedures for the treatment of the foot and ankle. He has been an invited speaker at the American Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Society national meetings. He serves as instructor for both national and international courses teaching foot and ankle surgery.

Dr. Castro gave me a diagnosis that was different from podiatrists I had been to in the last 6 years. His diagnosis gave me options other that might be able to correct my issues without going through painful surgery with an extremely long recovery time. Dr. Castro carefully explained the issue and what was necessary on my part in a professional manner without making me feel that I should have come to him earlier with my problem. Additionally, he explained that if that if I did surgery after following his instructions that the surgery was quick without requiring a long recovery time.
