Michael B. Choi, MD is a specialist in laser cataract, cornea, and LASIK surgery who serves patients in our Bronx and Queens locations. Over his career, Dr. Choi has cared for countless patients of all ages with various conditions across the country.
Trained at the renowned Mayo Clinic, ranked the #1 hospital nationwide by the U.S. News & World Report and regarded by many as the best hospital in the world, Dr. Choi served as chief resident and was selected for subspecialty fellowship training in cornea and refractive surgery with internationally recognized surgeons Eric Donnenfeld, MD and Henry Perry, MD. During his fellowship he participated in numerous clinical trials and performed challenging surgeries on patients with a multitude of complex corneal diseases.
Dr. Choi has published numerous scientific papers in respected peer-reviewed journals and authored book chapters in leading ophthalmology textbooks describing advancements in surgical techniques.
As a Mayo Clinic trained surgeon and specialist, Dr. Choi offers his patients the finest, most advanced techniques in laser cataract surgery and LASIK to optimize vision and increase safety. In addition, Dr. Choi’s clinical interests include dry eye disease, corneal astigmatism, diabetic eye disease, and general eye care.
