More about Dr. Michael Gatto, MD
"There was never a question. From the time I was a child, I wanted to go into medicine," states Dr. Gatto. His father, an inventor and machinery builder offered him the opportunity to take over the family business, but Dr. Gatto never wavered from the call to medicine.
A native of Brooklyn, New York, he earned his Medical Degree from New York Medical College in Valhalla, NY. Dr. Gatto served both his Surgical and Otolaryngology residencies at the University of California at Irvine where he was Chief Resident in Otolaryngology.
Following residency, he established his ear, nose and throat practice in Palm Springs in 1981. Dr. Gatto is also an allergist and specializes in alleviating nasal obstruction with the somnoplasty procedure.
Dr. Gatto and his wife, Anna, live in the Coachella Valley with their two teenage sons. In his leisure time, Dr. Gatto enjoys painting, watching movies, racecars and spending time with family. He has collected memorabilia from numerous films including signed scripts which are displayed throughout the office. Dr. Gatto is a supporter of the McCallum Theatre, College of the Desert, The Pet Rescue Center, Forever Free Horse Rescue and Garth Brooks Teammates for Kids Foundation.
