Dr. Gutman earned his medical degree and his PhD from the Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry, Western University. He completed his residency in neurosurgery at the University of Toronto Faculty of Medicine. He then completed two residencies in emergency medicine, one at the University of Ottawa, and the other at the University of British Columbia.
Dr. Gutman is a part of New England Urgent Care and is affiliated with Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center. He is certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine. He is an active member of the Urgent Care Association of America and the American College of Emergency Physicians. He has held leadership and management positions over the majority of his professional career including director of emergency services at St. Francis for 15 years, commanding officer of a forward surgical team, chief of the US military emergency department in Mosul, Iraq and most recently medical director and manager of New England Urgent Care.
Dr. Gutman speaks English and Hebrew fluently, which makes him widely accessible to patients from a variety of cultural backgrounds. He is deeply committed to the well-being of his patients. He takes a thorough and precise approach to his consultations to ensure that he is consistently giving accurate diagnoses.
