Dr. Michael C. Kim obtained his medical degree and a Master’s degree in Biomedical Science from Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri. He then completed his ophthalmology residency at the University of California—Irvine. Dr. Kim then furthered his training by completing a fellowship in Cornea/External Disease/Refractive Surgery at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute at the University of Miami.
After completing his medical training, Dr. Kim joined Vancouver Eye Care in 2000 as a board-certified ophthalmologist. Dr. Kim serves as the Secretary/ Treasurer of the Vancouver Eye Care Surgery & Laser Center and is a member of that Governing Body. He also serves as a member of Vancouver Eye Care’s Executive Team where he helps to guide the administrative affairs of the practice. Dr. Kim enjoys playing classical guitar, bicycling, building model airplanes and spending time with his family.

I was impressed that after the assistant finished with my initial eye check, Dr. Kim came in to see me in less than two minutes. That doesn't happen often if ever at doctor's offices. I liked that he explained what he was doing as he was doing it and what it meant, if it was important.
