I was very comfortable with him and am so thankful he was recommended to me! I know that with his expertise and my determination he will help me reach my goals... I was surprised at how reasonable the visits are and he accepts my insurance.

More about Dr. Michael Lynch, PhD

When we are meeting my focus is twofold. One part is to ensure that you are benefiting from the session and progressing toward your goals, say for example, anxiety reduction, reducing the effects of a difficult childhood, or resolving a relationship crisis. My second interest is that you have a positive and engaged experience during the session. You may be doing much of the talking as I understand what you tell me, or you may be reflecting upon a question I have posed, or you may be taking in a psychological principle I'm explaining that you can apply in your life situation. I have been practicing counseling and psychotherapy for nearly forty years and have trained in and use various psychotherapeutic methods. I know the kinds of problems people face and how change occurs, be it changing the way you feel and think about things or learning how to respond to a challenging situation. Sometimes the change is that of learning how to accept those things in our lives that we are unable to change. People have all sorts of reasons why they call a psychologist. I am pleased that I have been able to be of service and help the people who have sought me out over the years. At the same time, if I do not believe I can help you, I will tell you and will help you find someone who I think can. Also, if we begin meeting and I believe you might benefit from the services of another professional as well, for example a neurologist or endocrinologist, I will make recommendations to you. I have office hours on weekdays, evenings, and Saturdays & Sundays. If further information about me or my practice would be helpful, please check my website: Mlynchphd.com. Please call me if I can be of help.

the waiting time was my fault because I got lost trying to find his office. Not his fault!

Totally unprofessional. He literally gave me an ultimatum and ended up dumping me. Since I was set on going back to school, he said he couldn't work with me just because he didn't agree. I'm pretty sure psychotherapists are supposed to work with their clients regardless of whether or not they support their decisions 100%. He said he would work with me if I decided not to go back to school. I've ultimately decided not to, but I'm getting a new therapist anyways.
