Dr McMahon is a holistic primary care physician specializing in prevention, nutrition, exercise and wellness with a focus on LGBT health care issues, adult preventative health and community resources and outreach. Through regular proactive checkups and patient education, we at RCM strive to keep patients happy and healthy rather than only treating acute illnesses. We believe in a lifelong partnership between doctor and patient that is centered around mutual respect, honesty and open communication.
At Rock Creek Medical, your initial appointment with Dr McMahon will be a General Consult, as we do not offer full physicals at the first visit. The initial consult is intended to foster a discussion of prior social and medical history.
All acute medical issues will be addressed during your initial appointment. Labs will be drawn off site at LabCorp or Quest Diagnostics, and patients are asked to follow up in our office one week later for lab review and full, annual, new patient physical. Subsequent annual physical exams and preventative health screens will be done in a single visit, as labs will be drawn prior to that appointment each year.
