Michael J. Morrison, M.D. is a Board-Certified Orthopaedic Surgeon in the Atlanta,Georgia area who specializes in orthopaedic joint surgery and sports medicine. Michael J. Morrison received an Engineering Degree from Case Western Reserve University in 1975, and his Medical Decree from Ohio State University in 1979. During his residency at Case Western Reserve Affiliated Hospitals in 1980-1985 he had particular interest and focus on joint biomechanics. Joint arthroplasty techniques such as uncemented porous coat techniques for total joint replacement were just developing, and arthroscopy was just coming into its own as as a diagnostic and therapeutic tool for joint problems.These techniques were not only being applied to the large joints of hip, knee, and shoulder, but also to the small joints of the hand, a miracle of human engineering in itself.
When Doctor Morrison finished his chief residency training in 1985, he began practicing in Cobb County, Georgia where he continues to present day.
