Dr. Michael Negrey is a caring and dedicated ophthalmologist, cornea & external diseases specialist, and refractive surgeon serving the communities of Havertown and Media, PA. Dr. Negrey attended Thomas Jefferson University, where he received his medical degree, and completed his fellowship in refractive surgery, cornea and external disease at the University of Illinois, Chicago.
Dr. Negrey is a part of Negrey Eye Associates and is affiliated with Bryn Mawr Hospital, Wills Eye, and Riddle Memorial Hospital. Dr. Negrey is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. After my exam with the very thorough & pleasant Dr. Michael Negrey, I realized why my wait was longer than usual. Being an RN, I can recognize these factors and be more understanding to the wait. Reason: Dr. Michael takes his time with each patient, asks pertinent questions, and answers so the patient understands, regardless of the patient's profession, (i.e. medical professional). He also answered all of my questions to my satisfaction. The office staff was extremely pleasant and patient.

My appointment as a new patient was extremely thorough. I was being checked for possible glaucoma and diabetic retinopathy. The office staff was extremely professional. I saw Dr. Negrey jr. and he explained everything as he examined my eyes as well as his findings. I will definitely be returning to this office and to Dr. Negrey.

The doctor was fine. But the overall experience was unacceptable. I waited an hour and ten minutes to see the doctor and was in the office over two hours for a routine eye exam. I was called into an exam room by an aide for a brief eye chart reading after waiting a 35 minutes only to be sent back to the waiting room to wait another 35 minutes. The only possible explanation for this exactly half way bait and switch (you will be seen now...ooops just kidding) was to give me the impression I was being served and keep me from thinking I should leave. This office is clearly too busy to be taking new patients. No one seemed to note that my experience was unusual or worthy of any consideration. If I treated my clients this way, I wouldn't have any. My rating is not a review of the skill or manner of the doctor but of the practice itself: Very poor.
