Dr. Michael Ehrenhaus, known lovingly by his patients as “Dr Mike”, is a fellowship trained Cornea, Cataract and Refractive surgeon. He has trained with some of the world’s leading authorities and has personal experience in the management of corneal diseases, vision correction eye surgery (LASIK, PRK & ICL lens implants), corneal transplants (including DSAEK and partial thickness laser assisted transplants, INTACS for keratoconus, as well as both routine and complicated microsurgical cataract surgery (including multifocal and presbyopic lens implants). Dr. Ehrenhaus is a SUNY Downstate Medical Center graduate, who continued his residency training in Ophthalmology at Saint Vincent Catholic Medical Centers in Queens, New York. He then went on to complete an advanced fellowship in Cornea and Refractive Surgery at the University of California - Shiley Eye Center in La Jolla, California. He has been involved in the care of thousands of patients who have undergone various forms of refractive eye surgery and has been trained on new advanced lasers and techniques that now make the procedures safer than ever, such as bladeless LASIK, or IntraLasik. Dr. Ehrenhaus is one of only a handful of surgeons in the area certified and trained to perform IntraLasik surgery, INTACS for keratoconus, DSAEK sutureless corneal transplant surgery and the ICL vision correction surgery.
