Dr. Michael D. Smith graduated from the University of Toledo in 1970 with a B.S. degree, and entered The Medical College of Ohio at Toledo in the fall of 1970. He graduated with his MD in June 1973. In July 1973 he entered the OB/GYN Residency Program at William Beaumont Hospital and successfully completed his residency in June 1976. He has been in private practice specializing in obstetrics and gynecology since 1976.Dr. Smith is a member of the Oakland County and Michigan State Medical Societies as well as the Oakland County Peer Review Committee. He is currently on staff at Crittenton Hospital since 1976 where he holds the elected position of Vice-Chief of the Department of OB/GYN. He is also a longstanding member of the Crittenton Hospital Utilization Review Committee and Chairman of the OB/GYN Departmental Utilization Review Committee.Dr. Smith has been a solo practitioner of general obstetrics and gynecology, since 1980, but his special interest is in the practice of obstetrics.
