Compassionate, highly proficient general ophthalmologist with 22 years experience in private practice settings. I am well versed in both the medical and surgical aspects of ophthalmology and enjoy both. I am a very experienced anterior segment surgeon, having performed over 10,000 cataract surgeries, and am extremely proficient in glaucoma treatment and management, medical retina including laser, and all aspects of medical ophthalmology. In addition, in all my practice settings, I have provided routine optometric care and optical services. I have excellent patient rapport, and am highly diligent in providing patient education; while at the same time having the ability to see a large volume of patients. I am extremely well versed in all aspects of private practice, including office management, insurance coding, and employee relations; and have excellent peer relationships. I have enjoyed an unusually low turnover of office staff over the years due to my innate ability to attract and retain highly qualified employees. My widely varied background and experiences have given me a broad perspective and the ability to become an excellent diagnostician and problem solver.
I was board certified by the American Academy of Ophthalmology in 1994, recertified in 2004 and again in 2014.

For my first visit to this facility and meeting Dr. Stagner my experience was positive from the beginning to the end. It was seamless to schedule an appointment on-line. The registration process did not take a lot of time and the preliminary (I'll call it) "eye evaluation" facilitated Dr. Stagner so that he could get right down to the eye exam. Looking forward to building a relationship with him for my eye care. I appreciate that he took his time, listened to me and answered my questions.
