Dr. Vizcarra earned his BA in Human Biology from Stanford University and attended medical school at Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia. He completed his residency in Obstetrics & Gynecology at Stony Brook University Hospital in Long Island, NY, a Regional Perinatal Center for NY State which receives referrals of the most complicated OB cases from across Suffolk County and currently serves more than 1.4 million people.
"Since the age of three, I always wanted to be a doctor. My father is a family practice physician and while growing up, I observed first hand how his life was dedicated to serving others and the joy he derived from being a doctor. This commitment filled me with pride and admiration for my father’s work ethic and he is my inspiration for becoming a doctor.
When I began my medical journey, I knew I wanted to specialize in a field that would similarly allow me to develop long-term relationships with my patients. I fell in love with obstetrics & gynecology when I delivered my first baby during medical school. I quickly migrated to obstetrics & gynecology because beyond the joy of delivering babies this field allows me to provide care for women throughout all phases of their lives. I believe in serving my patients with the utmost kindness and compassion, to listen to their problems and work in partnership with them to come up with solutions.

Wouldn't give be a full prescription so he could collect additional office visit premiums for another 15 minute visit, to check my blood pressure which proved to be within a very healthy range. Wouldn't recommend.

Besides the long wait, 50 minutes after vitals were taken (they just moved in to a new office), I was very pleased at the professionalism and the excellent bedside manner of all staff. Dr. Viscarra took the time to talk to me about the procedure I was requesting and went over my medical history and let me ask awkward questions without making me feel weird about it. I was very impressed with his ability to perform the procedure that I went in for. I was especially pleased that he was able to try different techniques and procedure when the first try didnt work. I am sure would have resulted in me going back to see another doctor, had I not been in his office that day. HE IS WORTH WAITING FOR.

I highly recommend Dr. Vizcarra he is always very prompt and at the same time he takes his time and goes through everything from top to bottom never rushes through and always goes the extra mile. I was having really bad side pains and stomach cramps he talked to me about everything it could be and how we would treat it and he also let me see the baby on the sonogram to make me feel a little better!

He made me feel very comfortable. I felt like I could be completely honest and he was good at building rapport. He was very knowledgeable and explained everything in layman's terms and was patient and kind. I would recommend him to friends or my sisters. On the pecimist side: There was a very rude lady working there, so if you see a mean skinny blonde, don't take it personally, I'm pretty sure she just doesn't like her job, or was maybe just having a rough day. So don't take it personally. But Dr. Viscarra was really nice! Overall good experience for how awkward Gyno visits can be :)

Ive never been comfy With a male OBGYN but i Felt totally comfortable and confident in his abilities. So If I stay in this area, he WILL be my OBGYN indefinitely! Try him! You'll be pleased with the entire experience of his office.
