More about Dr. Mohamed (Mo) Dattu, MD

PLEASE BE AWARE I DO NOT TAKE ANY INSURANCE PLANS: I am happy that you have decided to review my profile. It's difficult for most people to admit they may need help with their mental health concerns. Whether it's depression, anxiety, very poor focus, self-esteem issues, or other problems, my aim is to understand you, not just to medicate you. My practice focuses on adults between the ages of 18 to 60 who are open to gaining a deeper understanding of their issues. Please bear in mind that my practice does not accept any kind of insurance as you read on and consider making an appointment. My appointments are fairly detailed; the time is yours, and I hope we can make the most of it. The initial appointment is 90 minutes, during which we explore much of your present and past functioning, including social, occupational, and interpersonal aspects. I typically refer patients who struggle with eating disorders, psychosis, gender identity challenges, court-mandated treatment, parenting evaluations, custody requirements, disability, SSDI, or substance use disorders. Although I do treat ADHD, please realize most medications are on very short supply nationally. I also do not prescribe ongoing doses of Xanax, Ativan, Klonopin, Valium, Ambien, or Lunesta but consider safer long-term options. I earned my Doctor of Medicine from St. George's University. I completed my internship in Internal Medicine at Drexel University, Philadelphia, Hahnemann University Hospital, and my residency in General Adult Psychiatry at the Pennsylvania Psychiatric Institute. I look forward to working with you and helping you make progress toward a healthier life. I’ve been very fortunate that several colleagues have trusted my work and referred their own family members for treatment. I hope you feel the same during the course of our work together.
