He isn’t super personable and interrupted me a few times when I was trying to explain my symptoms. Wait time was good and he seemed educated, but I think I will have to give him another visit or 2 before deciding if he’s the right neurologist for me.

Dr. Labbaf completed his neurophysiology/Epilepsy fellowship at Johns Hopkins Hospital where he specialized in management of refractory epilepsy (with medication, neuro-stimulation ( Vagus nerve stimulator), ketogenic diet and surgery evaluation),interpretation of long term video EEG monitoring to detect sub-clinical seizure, performing Electromyography and nerve conduction study and skin biopsy for neuromuscular diseases.
He completed his neurology residency at University of Illinois at Chicago with training in general neurology.
He is American board of Psychiatry and Neurology certified.

The visit was fine. The doctor was competent and listened but I didn't feel a connection with him.
The reception staff was nice but the atmosphere of the office and exam room was not pleasing. The waiting area is cramped, the bathroom wasn't dirty but it wasn't clean either, and the exam room, how do I put it, it just wasn't comfortable. It was actually quite a large exam room that had the doctor's desk in it. Maybe because it was large and wasn't just an exam room it didn't feel cozy or right to me.

I have been on a two and a half year journey to get to the bottom of my back and let pain. He has given me more information and solutions in one visit than any other doctor and specialists I've been to. The staff is very nice, and the doctors are very caring and geniunally seem to care about your condition. Would highly recommend!

The doctor was very friendly and a out-the-box thinker. He ordered special exams for me that my primary care doc is too lazy to think of. This doc actually physically exams you if you tell him what is bothering you. That is rare in the Manassas area!

He ordered additional tests to confirm his diagnosis and/or to determine other potential problem areas and to assist in his recommended treatment. I've been having the same issue for a month and a half, and have seen 4 doctors. Most of them tried to wave away my symptoms as insignificant and that they will go away on their own. Dr. Labbaf has been the first one to listen to what I was saying, look at my medical history, and agree that what I am experiencing is not normal. He was also the first doctor to prescribe the necessary tests and blood work that other doctors has not done. I really appreciated the time he took to listen to me and address all of my concerns. I did not feel rushed at all, as with other doctors. Over all, a great experience at this office.

Dr Labbaff is very focused on his computer and very little on his patient. He asks questions as prompted by his computer, types in your responses, and offers very little explanation or discussion.
Ridiculously poor interpersonal skills, zero empathy, and I couldn't imagine much worse of an experience overall. I didn't see his degree on the wall, and honestly questioned in my head if he was a real doctor.
At the end of my appointment, he didn't even wrap up our session by telling me what he thought my diagnosis was, and what our next steps are. He simply sent me to the receptionist who coldly asked for my co-pay. I had to ask her if he would share his notes, or diagnosis, or thoughts on 'next-steps' with me.

I am disappointed that Dr. Labbaf was so quick to push medication on me. After only a 15 minute (possibly less) consultation, he zeroed in on medicating only one of the many symptoms I was having; this left me discouraged and wanting more. I will not be returning.

I had my first visit today. I was taken back in a timely manner. The doctor was thorough and professional. I love the quiet office setting. He ordered all my initial tests to find my diagnosis. Im disappointed from the reviews, I had high hopes and expectations. However after being let down in terms of professionalism I can not say that I will be back. While Dr. labbaf is knowledgable the professionalism left alot to be desired. From calling the office during office hours and no one answering the phone (even after calling right back after getting a call from the office) to Dr. Labbaf being behind schedule not being notified of this upon arrival by the front desk, to not being seen in a timely manner and being pushed back because a sales rep decided to walk in off the street to push a new pill and her time was more important than mine was pure inconsideration and lack of respect for my time, and the service I pay for.
