After having tried at least 5, I have not found a cardiologist who really listens to the patient. They think they are smarter than you and you should just do what they say. They are all dependent on pharmaceuticals, most ofwhich have significant bad effects on everyone. But they are keeping you alive so they think they are special, by which I mean, they do not listen. By these standards, Dr. Ijaz is "normal". Cardiac events and their outcomes may depend on decisions made in minutes. Cardiologists aer well trained to wield the tools they have. They have not a clue how to do anything but treat the symptoms. This is big business, so treating the cause, which is usually diet/stress/living habits does not generate the money. Cardiologists are great at fixing you when your heart is in trouble (short term). For this they are awesome. For longer term care, I would go so far as to say there is a 90% probability they will decrease the quality of your life with their medications. There are much better alternatives for the long term addressing of cardiac disease. Cholesterol is NOT the problem, it is a symptom. After decades of pushing statins, they are just beginning to acknowledge the real causes, but with extreme lethargy. So, he's OK.

Everything was great about the visit except for the wait. I liked Dr. Ijaz and his nursing staff very much. My only complaint is the wait -- I think we waited 30 minutes for the standard vitals, then another 20 minutesfor the ECG, and then another 20-25 minutes for the doctor. So, a lot of waiting. The entire visit was around 1 hour and 45 minutes, and I think only about 20 of that involved testing or the doctor.

This office is always busy and disorganized, but Dr. Ijaz is quick, professional, and gets things done right away. He organized testing for me to help diagnose my heart issues and gave a rundown of what conditions it might be andwhat other further testing I might need. As someone with severe chronic health problems (mysterious and complicated, the worse kind!) who has seen many, many doctors, I appreciated his straightforward approach and practical nature and plan to continue seeing him for all my cardiovascular issues in the future
