Dr. Monique Adams-Derouen is a therapeutic optometrist and optometric glaucoma specialist. She is a graduate of the University of Houston-College of Optometry and has been in practice for 15 years. Initially, she practiced in a well-known retina and general ophthalmology practice in Houston and then moved into private practice. She was appointed as an adjunct assistant professor for the UH-College of Optometry from May 1999 to May 2002. She is a member of the Harris County Optometric Society and is a member of the Houston Northwest Chamber of Commerce.
Dr. Adams-Derouen believes in treating patients with complete respect and care. She believes in taking the time to address the total health of her patients in addition to providing quality eye care. She provides comprehensive eye examinations and specializes in the diagnosis and/or treatment of glaucoma, dry eyes and various eye diseases, including diabetic and hypertensive retinopathy. She also consults and co-manages LASIK with top cornea specialists in the Houston area.

Dr. Adams was very thorough in my eye exam and clearly explained all information. I especially liked her explanation of the photograph of my eye, pointing out the various features. Very helpful staff! Their accounting specialist was out for the holiday, so they explained that they would not be able to quote prices on the glasses I wanted. But no problem, since they took measurements of the proposed glasses and promised that I would contacted upon the accountant's return to confirm cost and setup arrangements for processing. All with a smile!!!

Didn’t see the doctor until 1 hour after scheduled appt. We weren’t informed that she was even going to be late until 20 minutes after scheduled appt.
First visit we had was an annual eye exam and that was amazing (and with with another doctor) but this being only a follow up for contacts was absurd.
