More about Dr. Narendra Desai, MD
Born in India November 1, 1943. Moved to British East Africa after finishing elementary school. Completed middle and high school education in East Africa, passing Senior Cambridge Examination (High School Graduate equivalent), given by Cambridge University, with distinction in Biology and English literature. Went back to India for college and medical education at the Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, India. After completing one year of internship in India, came to Doctor’s Hospital, Washington DC in June 1970. Completed one year of internship and two years of internal medicine residency in order to become board-eligible in internal medicine. Spent one extra year in internal medicine devoted to cardiology, electrocardiography, and treadmill stress testing. Started a private practice of internal medicine in Northern Virginia in April 1975. Became board certified in Internal Medicine in 1979 and was elected to membership in the American College of Physicians. Was elected to fellowship in the American College of Physicians in January 1994. Merged practice with Beauregard Medical Center, a multi-specialty clinic, in 1994, rising to the post of Vice President and then President. Merged the clinic with Sanjeev Kohli MD P.C. in 2012 assuming post of medical director. Left in 2014 to start Affordable Primary Care in Fairfax, VA. Dr. Desai lives in Alexandria, VA and plays golf for exercise and recreation. He has three sons and five grandchildren.

Angel the nurse very nice but I don't like this place at all.

Staff was not very professional. Wait time was longer than expected seeing as I was the only patient there. Bedside manner of Dr. Desai was poor. Saw me as just another patient coming through, showed little interest in my well-being.

The mid-wife is amazing to work with. The doctor and nurse it seems like you battle to get a straight solid answer. Don't even try calling the number to answers or assistance, rarely ever works.

He is a bad doctor! he wrote the wrong dosage of my prescription and when i went back to his office to correct the mistake, he want to charge me again for correcting the prescription!! However, the lady in the front desk she was very nice and she helped me with this issue.
by the way, I don't have insurance, and he charged me a lot only to write a prescription.

He was a very competent doctor and saw me right away after I filled out my new patient paperwork. He did a routine patient history on me and was very thorough. I have already scheduled an appointment with him for next month. Highly recommend!
