A native Texan, Dr. Hales is a graduate of Texas A & M University and the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston. He received his residency training in Otolaryngology at the University of Oklahoma Medical Center and is Board Certified. In addition, Dr. Hales received fellowship training under renowned cancer specialist, Jesus Medina, MD. He joined the practice in 2009. Dr. Hales is active in residency training and is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Otolaryngology at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. Dr. Hales is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Hales chairs the community Head & Neck Tumor Board to promote superior, coordinated and compassionate care for patients with cancer of the head and neck. He is fluent in Spanish. He sees patients for the diagnosis and management of head and neck cancer and has a special interest in endocrine surgery. He also sees adults and children for general ENT issues. Dr. Hales sees patients at our Westover Hills, Northwest and Downtown locations.
