Having performed more than 2200 Robotic prostatectomies, Dr. Kella is the most experienced robotic surgeon in the Southwest and is considered one of the top ten robotic surgeons in the U.S. Dr. Kella instructs other physicians on robotic surgery techniques, has served as an investigator in numerous clinical research studies, and has written articles for professional publications and presentations. He was named a 2012 Texas Super Doctor, an honor reserved for fewer than 5 percent of physicians in the state.
Dr. Kella completed his undergraduate degree at Stanford University, earned his medical degree from The University of Texas Southwestern, and completed his internship and residency at Tufts, New England Medical Center in Boston. With a background in chemical engineering and a deep interest in robotics, Dr. Kella completed his robotic surgery and urologic oncology fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. Dr. Kella’s specialties include, but are not limited to, treatment of: prostate cancer, enlarged prostate, low testosterone, erectile dysfunction, and kidney stones. Dr Kella strives to provide the best possible care. He is well-known for his skills with robotic surgery. In addition, he performs no scalpel, single-opening vasectomy and offers a promising office based procedure for BPH called the Urolift.

I would suggest looking around at others Urology clinics. The waiting room was FULL!! Waited over a hour past my appointment time with the same people the whole time. I was hoping to be a new patient but if I have to take a whole day off Everytime I plan on going forget about it.

I am a surgeon who does laparoscopic surgery.
After discussion with Dr. Kella I decided to have a robotic prostatectomy for my prostate cancer. I believe in surgery and I wanted surgical removal of my prostate despite the possible and certain consequences of operative resection. I picked Dr. Kella for my robotic prostatectomy as did other physicians that I know personally.
I was out of the hospital the next day. I am completely satisfied with the process and outcome. Each patient is different and no one choice is right for every patient. In addition, each patient undergoing operation will have a different experience and outcome. I am very pleased with the choices I made and the outcome I experienced.
