Dr. Rice is originally from Dallas and is thrilled to give back to her hometown community. Prior to her medical education, she earned a B.A. and Master’s degree in Social Work and was a practicing Licensed Master’s Social Worker. She attended medical school at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, followed by residency at the Health Science Center’s affiliated facility, University Hospital.
Dr. Rice is passionate about women’s health issues and places great value on patient education. She believes that health care delivery can be kind and compassionate, and she strives to provide an atmosphere for her patients that is understanding and comfortable. These values are why Dr. Rice is pleased to have joined Drs. Thomas and Franken, who share her enthusiasm for a patient/physician relationship based on trust and teamwork.
Dr. Rice enjoys traveling, snow skiing, and relaxing with a good book or movie. She and her husband Tom stay busy keeping up with their two daughters, Alex and Cate.
