Dr. Patel is a freindly professional who attenitavely listened to my health concerns. I was sent to a lab conveniently located next door to his office for extensive testing of my kidney function. His office called the next day and connected me directly to Dr. Patel who explained my test results and answered my questions. I was more than satisfied with my health care experience.

Nehal Patel is a compassionate and accomplished internist and nephrologist based in Houston, TX. Originally from Texas, Dr. Patel earned his undergraduate degree in biology from the University of Texas at Austin. He accomplished his medical degree at the St. George’s University School of Medicine in Grenada, and completed both his residency in internal medicine and his fellowship in nephrology at the State University of New York, Downstate Medical Center.
Dr. Patel is certified in internal medicine and nephrology by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He is also a member of the American Society of Nephrology, the National Kidney Foundation, and the Texas Medical Association. Dr. Patel currently serves as Chief of the Medicine Department at Memorial Hermann Northwest Hospital.
Outside of work, he enjoys exercising his humanitarian instincts in a variety of ways. He has served on medical missions trips to Cambodia and Peru and is a speaker for various community groups.

Great visit! It was quick and I was able to see the doctor within 10 minutes after checking-in. My only concern is the follow-up or the "next steps" once they received my results from blood work as they were very vague about it. I had to call in to check what was the status on it.

The Memorial Hermann Convenience Center had a stellar environment, clean and professional. However, the doctor spent little or no time talking to me when I was asking for just general advice on health and well being. I guess he might have been quite busy that day. In general I would recommend this place to anyone living nearby.

First met Dr Patel while my husband was a patient at Memorial Herman Greater Heights his bedside manners were a breath of fresh air patience kind concerned and knowledgeable I decided then I wanted him to be my husbands new doctor! Got him an appointment fairly quickly. We were running a little late for the appointment so I called to let the dr know as it was a late evening appointment and he kindly waited for us. Even being almost 15 minutes late we still had little to no wait time, upon arrival we were almost immediately taken to the back ????

Dr. Patel and his staff are great! He was able to squeeze me into his schedule at the last minute to check out a weird lump on my throat. In and out of the office in less than 30 minutes so free parking in the garage, plus he didn't charge me anything for the visit since he didn't have to prescribe any treatment.

Other than the fact that my first two appointments were rescheduled (which may or may not have been based in fact), the following was factual.
It was a short wait; that was a good start. I then saw Dr Patel and he seemed very nice/cordial. Though he also seemed as if his patients were on a conveyor belt and he was trying to run through them as fast as possible.
I set up a blood work test the next day in the recommended lab downstairs which I went to and was told by Dr Patel's nurses I would receive results from "about 5-10 days later". It has now been 21 days and I haven't heard a word. I've called 3 times and had the following responses: "the doctor is not in, please call back", "the results have not come in, please call back", and the best "we've just closed, please call back tomorrow" (it was 3pm).
Also, at the end of my original appointment, I was given an option to have an online portfolio of my exam which I opted into. It's been almost a month and I still have been unable to log into it because the nurses at his clinic have not typed in the paperwork. (I called to ask why I was unable to log in and this was their reasoning: "I haven't gotten around to it yet").
So. In the end, Dr Patel could be a legitimately good doctor, though I'm uncertain. But his front office staff is terribly awful at any form of communication or effectiveness and would not recommend his office as a whole.

No waiting, Dr Patel was very friendly. ZocDoc could do better to identify each doctor's specialty - had no idea I was going to a practice that specializes in dialysis. I was just looking for a GP.

I took my mother to her doctors appointment with Dr. Patel for the first time. I thought I would need to help translate for her as I usually do, but to our surprise Dr. Patel spoke Spanish very well and the staff was bilingual too - I would highly recommend.

I would recommend this doctor to my family & friends. Very comfortable that Dr. Patel will be my healthcare provider for years to come.
