Dr. Nicholas Choy, MD

Dr. Nicholas Choy, MD

Psychiatrist
NY
Hello! My name is Dr. Choy, and I am a board-certified Psychiatrist. After graduating from Ross University School of Medicine where I earned my medical degree, I trained at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center in NY, where I also served as Chief Resident. I was born in the United States but raised in Malaysia, where I was exposed to a diverse range of cultures and beliefs. This experience gave me a deep appreciation for inclusivity and diversity, as well as an understanding of the ways in which culture, immigration, and intergenerational trauma can impact mental health. In my practice, I am dedicated to de-stigmatizing mental illness and providing person-centered care that incorporates shared decision-making. I have a specific focus on meeting the needs of the U.S military veterans as well as the Asian American community, and takes a holistic approach to the management of mental illness.
