I have worked as a clinical and long term care dietitian in several hospitals, nursing homes and assisted living facilities on the East Coast, with experience in managerial and director roles. As a dietitian I was able to use Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) to help individuals with several diseases, disorders or surgeries. With over 10 years experience working in hospitals I have had the pleasure of helping many diabetics control and manage their blood sugars and decrease medication dependency needed for glucose control through proper diet and exercise. Gastric bypass patients pre and post op have also been a group I have specialized with in educating for weight loss and portion control. Through the years I have also worked with and educated patients with several disease states to adjust their lifestyle, make healthier choices, follow an exercise regimen and to feel better about themselves! Including but not limited to:
Heart disease-aid in lowering their high cholesterol/ triglycerides and high blood pressure
Kidney disease-pre dialysis and hemodialysis-educating on the complexity of the renal diet from protein to potassium we cover it all
Obesity and overweight- aid in making diet changes and incorporating exercise for weight loss
Cancer patients who need to gain/ maintain weight, manage nausea from chemotherapy treatments
Disease prevention with emphasis on whole natural foods and stress management
Diabetics-insulin and non insulin dependent
Gastric Bypass pre and post operation counseling
Several health insurance companies cover for a few nutrition consults per year
I also teach different types of aerobics and strength training classes in fitness clubs in the Philadelphia Pa area. Whether personal training one client or a group of 100 my main goal is to push you harder than you would push yourself and make you sweat and burn the calories away. But I listen to your needs if you have a past injury hindering a range of motion we can adapt a program that is safe and effective for you. My clients have lost up to 16 inches in just weeks by following a meal plan and exercise routine. Always consult with your doctor before beginning any exercise program. My training is in marathon preparation, boot camps, kick boxing, full body sculpting, interval and circuit training.
