Dr. Shah is a board certified orthopaedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine, a specialty within orthopaedic surgery that treats injuries to bones, joints, cartilage, tendons, ligaments and muscles. Dr. Shah is one of the only orthopaedic surgeons in the area with additional subspecialty board certification in orthopaedic sports medicine. He specializes in minimally invasive techniques and arthroscopy to treat injuries of the shoulder, knee, and elbow.
Dr. Shah’s extensive training and experience includes caring for the areas professional collegiate and high school athletes. This expertise, combined with his philosophy of personalized care, allows him to develop the most appropriate plan of treatment—either surgical or nonsurgical—based on the needs, goals and desires of each individual. His patients include little league, high school, collegiate and professional athletes, as well as the injured worker (workman’s compensation) and weekend warriors—all receiving the same expert level of care.
During his fellowship at The Methodist Hospital and Baylor Clinic in Houston, Texas. He was a team physician for the Houston Astros Major League Baseball team, accompanying the team for spring training. Dr. Shah was also a team physician with the Houston Texans NFL team, the Houston Dynamo Major League Soccer team, University of Houston athletic teams, and several Houston area high school football teams. Dr Shah is also currently developing new 3D Printed materials for bone ligament and tendon surgeries and is a consultant for the Materials Science and Engineering Department at Northwestern University. Referring physicians and athletic trainers constantly refer more difficult cases to him including 2nd opinions and revision surgery for complex knee and shoulder problems.

My 13 year old daughter tore her ACL and meniscus and is in need of surgery. Dr. Shah explained her injury and the options that were available to us in great detail. She is an athlete so this injury is devastating to her. He made her feel at ease which was the best part of the whole visit. I would highly recommend Dr. Shah.

I am very pleased with Dr Shah. I have been going to an orthopd for several years for the same problem. Dr Shah actually provided more options and advice in this first visit than I have received in all my previous visits to the other doctor. His approach is professional,yet he put me at ease immediately. Speaking with me in an accepting and intelligent tone. I immediately felt that I would be a large part of my care plan. He listened to my concerns and provided several options towards my treatment. In total ,I was very happy with this excellent doctor and his staff.

I did not like Dr. Shahs bedside manner. With the conclusion of the problem, his hand was on the door handle ready to move on without giving me much opportunity to ask questions especially when surgery is a concern.
