Dr. Norma Rivera Mraz earned both her Bachelor of Arts (1985) and Master of Arts (1987) degrees from the University of Florida. She earned her Doctor of Audiology degree (2004) from the Arizona School of Health Sciences. After 10 years practicing audiology in Florida, she moved to Atlanta, GA in 1997, where she specialized her efforts in the treatment of individuals who are afflicted with tinnitus (ringing in ears)and hyperacusis (abnormal sensitivity to sound).
After studying the Tinnitus Retraining Therapy (TRT) treatment program with its creators, Dr. Pawel Jastreboff and Dr. Jonathan Hazell, she studied other tinnitus programs, such as masking and Neuromonics, offered at different tinnitus clinics and workshops across the country. She has published articles on tinnitus in Tinnitus Today and The Hearing Journal and has lectured on tinnitus and hearing loss at national and international conferences.
Dr. Rivera Mraz is a member of the American Academy of Audiology - Fellow (FAAA); American Tinnitus Association (ATA), where she served on the Resource Committee; the Academy of Doctors of Audiology (ADA); and the Greater Academy of Audiology(GAA). She is registered on Dr. Pawel Jastreboff’s Tinnitus Retraining Therapy Association (TRTA) list. She speaks fluent English, Spanish, and Sign Language.
Today, Dr. Rivera Mraz owns and operates Mraz Audiology Consulting, Inc., which specializes in hearing conservation, hearing loss, tinnitus (ringing in ears), and hyperacusis. The patient population served is newborn to adults. Mraz Audiology Consulting, Inc. focuses on providing the highest quality of care and professionalism to address each patient’s individualized hearing healthcare needs.
