I sought treatment today because I suffer from anxiety over chronic pain that I’m experiencing. It was explained to me that perhaps I need a psychoanalyst or psychologist instead of a psychiatrist to speak with periodically to identify coping skills.He explained the difference between the three disciplines. Both the doctor and his staff were very patient with me as I experienced anxiety during the call. I was enlightened about the care I should seek as well as get short-term medication to address my anxiety and get sleep through the night until I can find a provider.
