I am an internist in Austin and work in new model of healthcare called Direct Primary Care which works outside of the traditional insurance model. We don't bill any third party insurance. Because of this we are able to have a smaller patient panel and hence a greater relationship with each patient. We are able to provide longer patient visits, along with in house lab testing and basic procedures such as EKGs, etc. This model works well for patients without insurance as well as those with insurance looking for a different approach to their healthcare.
