I really appreciate that she has Saturday hours which makes it easier for my work schedule. She also was able to take my blood on the spot so I didn't have to go to another lab and wait to have my blood drawn. She really listens and makes sure she has all the latest information from my other tests and doctors to make informed decisions.

Dr. Pallavi Belur is an osteopathic internal medicine physician who holds strongly to the oath that she took in medical school to preserve the health and wellness of her patients. Her greatest priority is to maintain an optimal state of both physical and emotional well-being for her patients. She received her medical degree from Kentucky College of Osteopathic Medicine and Masters of Health Administration degree from George Washington University. Her interests are in cardiovascular disease, osteopathic manipulation for musculoskeletal disorders/ sports medicine, obesity management, cancer screening and geriatrics.
Dr. Belur’s residency training was at Walter Reed Army Medical Center (WRAMC) and Bluefield Regional Medical Center. She has served as Assistant Medical Director to the Quality Improvement and Patient Safety Committee at WRAMC. She was stationed in Fort Meade, MD at Kimbrough Ambulatory Care Center where she served as a Chief Medical Officer in Force Health Protection. While in the military, she received numerous awards such as the National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, and the Army Superior Unit Award.
Most recently, she worked for MedStar Health as a primary care physician where she was awarded recognition by the National Committee for Quality Assurance Physician Practice Connections Patient-Centered Medical Home Program (PPC-PCMH). Dr. Belur was awarded a Leading Physicians of the World by The International Association of HealthCare Professionals in 2015. She has published articles in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology- Cardiovascular Imaging and Transplantation. She is a member of the American College of Osteopathic Internists and Association of Healthcare Executives.
Dr. Belur lives in Potomac, Maryland with her husband and two young children. She is passionate about fitness and is a marathon runner and certified Zumba instructor.

She did not take me at my scheduled time. I was a new patient. She took an existing patient and told the receptionist to tell me to come back in an hour. The receptionist told me they had already changed the appointment online, but had no obligation to call me personally since I had made the appointment via Zocdoc, the online appointment service. This is funny since Zocdoc asks for a number you can be reached at if the Dr needs to reach you. Bottom line, if you are a new patient , expect to be treated like garbage if a regular patient needs help.. Dr Pallavi and her office were very unprofessional. I was in excruciating pain and they didn’t care.

I have only visited with her one time for a physical but I had a great experience. She spent a lot of time understanding my current health issues and coming up with a treatment plan. Since she is an active athlete I believe she "gets it" when a former athlete is dealing with sports related pain. She seemed to have a great understanding of body mechanics which is what I was looking for. I plan on making her my primary doctor moving forward.

As a first time appointment with a new doctor, my Mom thought the exam was less than cursory. The doctor only listened to her heart and lungs and performed no other examination. No gown was provided either. The doctor listened to my Mom's complaints and took a decent amount of time with her and also addressed her concerns. I guess this must be the "new" standard of care with what's happening in medicine but we were expecting more in terms of a first time exam.
